Behind The Lens

Location

We took this photo in a large industrial room, on the cement floor.

Time

It was probably in the morning, as we love to shoot early during the day.

Lighting

Four flashes were used for this photo, to obtain maximum lighting.

Equipment

Canon EOS 6D, Canon 24-105mm L lens, and Godox flashes.

Inspiration

Considering that everything can be inspiring, we were actually waiting in line at a drive-thru and in front of us was a pick-up truck loaded with peat rolls. We thought it could be interesting to do a concept with peat since we didn't see many photos done already exploiting that material. We suddenly thought of a yard, a garden party, but we wanted something very graphic and commercial. In 15 minutes, the concept was born and we were getting some peat rolls and accessories for the photoshoot!

Editing

It was mostly about doing beauty retouching, working on the tones, cleaning all the extra soil on the white background, and completing with some dodge and burn.

In my camera bag

We always have our Canon 24-105 mm used for this photo, a Tamron wide angle, a Sigma 50 mm 1.4 Art, a Canon 50 mm Macro, a trigger Godox, and extra batteries!
