A tiny excerpt from the nameless spot in the most grandiose part of the creation, seen for a 250th part of one second.
We think of our lives as "short", but there are many seconds in one life.
Can we even begin to imagine the wealth of change that happens in a single second?
And yet, we dare to use words like "all", "never", "always", or "eternity" on a daily basis... Fun!

Behind The Lens

Location

It was photographed right in front of the house - can't be easier than that!

Time

March 23rd, 2017 - 15:55 hrs...

Lighting

Pure daylight, with the Sun inclined toward the West, the way it happens in March on our latitudes. There was no other lightsource, and obviouusly there was no need for anything else.

Equipment

The camera used here was Nikon Coolpix P610, out of hand. No add-on equipment of any sort.

Inspiration

My top inspiration is water in every form and sense. And I'm extremely lucky to live very close to one of the World's most beautiful aquatic bodies, which Lake Ohrid most certainly is. It is an everyday thing with me to notice the changes in and around this fairytale lake and a privilege to be able to react, simply by grabbing the camera nearest to hand at such moments.

Editing

Actually nothing but a bit of cropping was required, and of course the usual reduction in size for upload of the copy.

In my camera bag

My photo equipment is becoming more essential by the day, so what I really need fits in the many pockets of my photo vest. So my photo bag(s) actually contain what I am not using. I find the photo vest much more practical. It can be well organized and it distributes the weight more symmetrically. I usually have two cameras along; the "main" one which is quick to use in majority of situations - from sudden activity, to landscapes, to macro shots. The second camera is mandatorily a watertight model. This one I use underwater and also in bad weather, as it is impervious to any climate change. The rest consists of spare batteries, some ND and a CPL filter(s), one small camera clamp, a roll of paracord, a lighter and a sturdy-handled pocket knife. These things allow me to improvise whenever it is required instead of burdening myself with larger and heavier accessories.

Feedback

We all know that photo equipment is just another tool for expressing our feelings upon contact with things and situations, much like a pencil, hammer and chiisel, a musical instrument and other creatively used tools. We also know that every one of our expressions is always one more story about the author, and less about the depicted theme. In the same way, every photo will thus be 90% author and 10% equipment. Whatever your themes, we the viewers always see only what you the author decided to show, and the way of thematic presentation speaks volumes about what you feel about it. So be observant, have your own opinion about things you present, and strive to collect as much ability to use your camera to that end. We have one single World, we all see it differently, and learning about our unique aspects enriches us all in more sense than just about the themes photographed. In short, shoota lotta pixa day! :)
