There is a restricted bird area in the vicinity (white-headed eagles) and the local govt probably won't allow renovation there. Anyway, most of the original settlers have moved, and this village is better left the way it is now. Still, for a few photographers this is still worth visiting.

An abandoned village by the name of Niska on Cres Island (Croatia, Northern Adriatic). Nobody lives there any more, but the ambient is nigh perfect for various things, like outdoors theater happenings, movie-making, or as a photo background for fashion or similar shoots.Time

The stone walls, beautiful shadows and the coarse setting for various shooting possibilities. Also, some special silence and an atmosphere of expectation that lingers there.Editing
This version has been converted from color image to b&w for a contest, and has also been cropped from somewhat larger original. In my camera bag
Two cameras. One has more flexible optics, the other is waterproof. It's been my standard for many years, and I still think this to be my minimum. Until someone creates a waterproof camera with a great big zoom, full-frame sensor and f1.4 :)Feedback
For one reason or another, our World is and probably never will be short on ruins. It pays to roam your surroundings to locate some, as such places can be a welcome contrast to the themes you might want to photograph there! And be careful: some stones easily dislodge, so take care exploring! Also, whether you know it to be abandoned, it is almost always someone's property. Respect that and behave like a guest, rather than a grave-robber! :)
