... and again (too close to April 1st to be taken seriously!)
There's that weird feeling I could safely erase 2K photos from my gallery without doing much damage... ;)

Location
In the patio of the house. We live in Elenkamen (Lake Ohrid, Macedonia).Time
00:28:30 which should normally be considered late, but sometimes internet keeps us awake (thanks to some of our friends' timezones...)Lighting
The snail was lighted by a household LED flashlight. I changed the light angle between several shots to see the effects. It works well for small objects, but not for larger themes; the light cone is too narrow.Equipment
CANON D10 and LED flashlight producing light by its 18 diodes. It was literally a double one-hand shot: one hand holding the flashlight, and the camera in other one.Inspiration
Snail, flashlight, and the opportunity. Also the fact that ever since moving to live here, we have learned never to go anywhere without the camera! And the small D10 sure is no problem to have handy at all times...Editing
I tweaked the color a little, so as to douse the highlights reflecting off the snail's shell. And I have only cropped the image a tad, to correct the final frame. In my camera bag
Two cameras in the pockets of my photo vest. Filters (NDs, CPL, Skylight), spare batteries, memory cards, reflective foil, flashlight, pocket knife, length of cord, firemaker... and not much else. Many things can be improvised with this. Anyway it is simpler to "travel light and go far" than stomp around burdened like a mule just because of all the maybes. :)Feedback
There is a point to make here. I went to the patio just to return a chair to where it belonged, and I took the flashlight with me. Since I also learned never to go out without a camera, the D10 was in my pocket, just in case. So the moment I saw the snail, I was able to start shooting. And he couldn't run away! I was prepared. This is the most important factor in making photos, also the best possible advice to share.
