Location
We took this picture in our living room.Time
It was late in the afternoon, after a long day doing different photoshoots.Lighting
We used a Godox AD200 flash in a beauty dish.Equipment
We used our Canon EOS 6D, and a 50mm 1.4 ART lens.Inspiration
Carolyn (the model and also the stylist and designer of the duo) also works in a public library where a whole locker room had been converted into something else. There were many keys that would no longer be useful and she thought of creating a necklace entirely made with them. There were also little numbered round key tags, which made her think of the metallic circles adorning the veils of traditional Berber costumes and she got the idea of creating an Arabic inspired look, with the key necklace and the veil decorated with key tags.Editing
We wanted to do a trompe-l’oeil with the veil, starting as an actual veil, and becoming the whole front surface. To do so, the execution was quite difficult, especially when the editing part came for Marc-André (the photographer and retoucher of the duo), as he had to merge all the textures in one and only smooth material (as it was originally vinyl for the veil, and cardboard for the front surface). In my camera bag
We always have our Canon 24-105 mm used for this photo, a Tamron wide angle, a Sigma 50 mm 1.4 Art, a Canon 50 mm Macro, a trigger Godox, and extra batteries!Feedback
