Location
We were visiting our friends nearby, and bordering their garden is a rocky slope with lots of local natural-grown flowers and evergreen plants. These lizards live there, and their natural curiosity drew them close enough for this shot (and several more). I think they're used to people moving around and pretty well tamed, so the occasion was as good as it can get!Time

Nikon COOLPIX P610 was shot out of hand, with no add-ons of any kind.Inspiration
I doubt anyone would pass an opportunity to make photos of these beautiful, foot-long lizards, but it was also a question of having an appropriate lens so as to be able to zoom in very close. That is the reason both my wife and me use prosumers (superzooms) since our ambient requires it. As to the inspiration... the lizards' color and behavior was inspirative enough!Editing
Hardly any, bar some slight cropping; you might say it is straight out of the camera - and the P610 did well!In my camera bag
For decades already I find it easier to carry a photo vest than any photo bag. So I load my photo vest with whatever I might need for my photo session, walk or trip. My photo bags usually stay home or in the car to keep the equipment I'm not using at the moment. The vest's many pockets usually contain two cameras, spare batteries, ND and CPL filters, and one small photo clamp instead of a tripod. Sometimes I'll include a small action camera, mainly for its wide field of view and resistance to water and weather. The vest has pockets for big lenses that can hold a small water bottle, a sandwich, or a bar of chocolate if I plan on being out for the whole day. I always add about three meters length of paracord or similar strong, thin rope, one hefty pocket knife, and a lighter. With these, much can be "mcgyvered" along the way, so that's all I need. Recently I make it even more comfortable for me, and take the essentials along in a waist pouch; a variable-volume McKinley. Simplicity and comfort; two best qualities for the most situations!Feedback
Your camera should 1) be always close at hand, and 2) should be able to respond to the local requirements, meaning there should be ample reach for all the themes that might appear in your ambient and situations. The prosumers might not be the best cameras to have, but they do have some important advantages. One of those is, all the focal lengths - from macro thru telephoto - are already in there, and thus much quicker to use than having to fumble with any interchangeable optics. This means less missed situations and more keepers! So if you are shopping for an "universal" camera, look up what's on the superzoom prosumer market. There are several good cameras to choose among (regardless of the manufacturer).
