Don't know about you, but to me this arrangement is, in terms of sheer ugliness, on par with, say, plastic garden dwarfs. It may be cheap, it may be even useful, but oh boy...

Wouldn't a nice wooden gazebo be more harmonious with the greenery?
Oh, well. Maybe it's just me.

Yes I know, "the tastes are not to be discussed"... but the tastelessness, IMHO, should; and way more often!

Behind The Lens

Location

Photo was made on one of the mountains surrounding my living place, where there is an interesting, though time-worn church set in the beautiful nature. I'll leave out the name so as not to point out this spot for less beautiful detail found there. Still, I do hope someone will recognize this, and possibly re-think the effects it had on visitors.

Time

Date/Time was 04-Jun-18 at 12:52:46...

Lighting

All of it: Shutter Speed 1/640 s, F-Number f/3.8, ISO 100, Exposure Bias Value 0.00 eV, Metering Mode: Center weighted average, Flash Off - Did not fire, Focal Length 6.3 mm, and White Balance Details: Auto1. That's all!

Equipment

Nikon model COOLPIX P610 was at hand in the moment.

Inspiration

Frankly, the sheer clashing between the natural beauties of the spot against the unbelievable ugliness of the construct. It fit there like a proverbial fist in the eye. So it simply had to be photographed, as a "good bad example".

Editing

Nothing, save the crop, to re-frame the scene. All else is SOOC...

In my camera bag

I always found it easier to carry a photo vest than any photo bag. So I load my photo vest with whatever I might need for my photo session, walk or trip, while my photo bags usually keep the equipment I'm not using at the moment. The vest's many pockets usually contain two cameras, spare batteries, ND and CPL filters, and one photo clamp standing in for a tripod. Recently I include a small action camera, mainly for its wide field of view and resistance to water and weather. The vest also has large-lens pockets that contain a small water bottle, sandwich, or a bar of chocolate if I plan on being out for the whole day. There is about three meters length of paracord or similar strong, thin rope, one hefty pocket knife, and a lighter. Using the tools mentioned above, much can be improvised along the way, so that's all I need. Recently I made it even more comfortable for me, and take the essentials along in a waist pouch. Simplicity and comfort; two best ingredients in most situations!

Feedback

Look at everything, photograph everything, remember everything... Some things are pretty, other not so much, but you never know when you may need either of those. All your views will have their seconds of highlight and "glory". Variety is one of the mightiest rules in Universe, and specialization killed off the dinosaurs! So enjoy the Good Light but also the absence of it! Life is meant to be an enjoyment, anyway!
