Obviously a disliked traffic sign!

Behind The Lens

Location

Where the main road branches into a side fork, there was this sign - in the meantime replaced with a new one. So the photo seems to be the only proof of idiocy that is so difficult to explain to anyone normal. But we should always keep in mind that ANY AND ALL AVERAGES will show 78% stupids, 21% reasonables and 1% of really developed minds - similar to the percentages we measure in the very air we breathe, the relations of Nitrogen, Oxygen, and so-called Noble gases. Curiously, the percentages will not vary a lot, whether your sample is taken from some academic community or from the most primitive population you can think of. Worth thinking about, that!

Time

Date/Time of this shot is-was 03-Dec-16 09:37:26

Lighting

Here you are, all that matters: Shutter Speed 1/800 sec, f/5.6, ISO 100, 0.00 eV, Metering Mode: Pattern, Flash Off (Did not fire), Focal Length 98.5 mm, White Balance Daylight.

Equipment

NIKON COOLPIX P610 was at hand, used for this shot (out of hand with no add-on equiment).

Inspiration

I always feel some kind of revolt when I encounter any useless destruction, so the inspiration is not what needs to be expressly there... it kind of requries from my mind to take a sample, so as to show the World what is but should not be tolerated. To my sorrow it does not help much, since people would not extend their imagination beyond the visible there. And people should think about the motivation and mental levels of the perpetrators, and not just about the holes in the tin.

Editing

What I needed to do is some cropping, so as to exclude what does not point out the theme. Nothing else was required.

In my camera bag

For decades already I find it easier to carry a photo vest than any photo bag. So I load my photo vest with whatever I might need for my photo session, walk or trip. My photo bags usually stay home or in the car to keep the equipment I'm not using at the moment. The vest's many pockets usually contain two cameras, spare batteries, ND and CPL filters, and one small photo clamp instead of a tripod. Sometimes I'll include a small action camera, mainly for its wide field of view and resistance to water and weather. The vest has pockets for big lenses that can hold a small water bottle, a sandwich, or a bar of chocolate if I plan on being out for the whole day. I always add about three meters length of paracord or similar strong, thin rope, one hefty pocket knife, and a lighter. With these, much can be "mcgyvered" along the way, so that's all I need. Recently I make it even more comfortable for me, and take the essentials along in a waist pouch; a variable-volume McKinley. Simplicity and comfort; two best qualities for the most situations!

Feedback

1) Eyes open; 2) Camera at hand; 3) Curiosity at Max! That would be all, I think! Enjoy - whatever the theme! :)
