Location
Zagreb, Croatia. In my sister's home cellar.Time
12:12:23... which did not affect the flash-lighted objects in the cellar's low-level light.Lighting
Mainly lighted by the camera's built-in flash; but there was also some additional low lighting from the insignificantly small window.Equipment
OLYMPUS SP570UZ, close-up, hand-held.Inspiration
The mushrooms grew out of the plastic bag filled with sawdust. It's an interesting and clean way to maintain a healthy foodsource right in your home. Besides, these mushrooms look really nice, so you get to photograph them too!Editing
Doused some blown highlights, as the white and shiny surfaces reflect a lot of light back. Otherwise nothing out of the ordinary routine, which ends with final cropping and resizing the results for upload. In my camera bag
I don't use the bag, delighting in the simplicity of digital equipment. It's all in various pockets of my photo vest, which is more than sufficient for two cameras, several spare battteries, and few filters (NDs, and a CPL), a camera clamp (instead of tripod), a water bottle, lighter, a length of string, and a pocket knife. Sometimes a sandwich or a bar of chocolate, if I'm out for the whole day. For whatever else I might need, I'll improvise...:)Feedback
This is a theme that does not require hurry. Take your time to study it from all angles, and photograph in both aspects; landscape and portrait. Go for the group, then shoot the details. Try extreme macrophotos. Try also from afar, zooming your theme in. If possible, try different light angles, against the light (for transparency), also arrange some table lights and try multiple-source lighting. In the end, throw a few slices of onion into a pan of heated oil until nicely browned. Cut up a handful of cleaned mushrooms to half-centimetre thick slices (don't ever wash the mushrooms, you'll spoil the taste)! Add to the pan, let them fry for about five more minutes, then crack two eggs over them. Stir until eggs are done. Enjoy! ;)
