Congratulations on winning my Challenge Hearts! A good find and the detail of the bolt is a nice finish of the composition!

Thanks! Sometimes rust can be pretty, and also what lacks can make content... :)

Location
This curiously shaped rust-through was found in Radozda village by the Lake Ohrid (Macedonia).Time
15.10.2011, 15:36:34 to be as precise as can be...Lighting
Sunny afternoon daylight, nothing more was needed.Equipment
Camera was a Canon D10, a small and nice go-anywhere amphibious device. The shot was made out of hand, light conditions being very favorable.Inspiration
Inspiration came from the rusted shape and its texture.Editing
This photo did not require many corrrective actions, save some cropping. In my memory, the color of the boat hull (where that heart-shaped hole hapenned to be) was pretty much exactly how it appears. After the cropping, the image copy was reduced to 1600 X 1200 px for upload to the site.In my camera bag
The pockets of my photo vest replace my need for the bag, and in there you will find two cameras; one would be a prosumer long-zoom model, and the reserve camera would be something like this Canon. It is waterproof, thus capable of underwater use, in generally all kinds of bad weather, and also when you have to make a quick shot without much fumbling with camera controls. The D10 has another nice feature; it recognises a close-up / macro by itself! Can't be more elegant than that. Aside from those cameras, I'll carry a small and lightweight camera clamp to replace the tripod, a pocket knife, a length of paracord, a lighter... With those I'll improvise whatever I happen to need while shooting. Even the pocket knife can become a camera stand for timelapse exposures, and all in all, I like to travel light.Feedback
Don't overburden yourself. Instead of lugging all that you think you might happen to need, pick a sensible choice of items according to where you go. Be free to roam, open to all themes from landscapes through macros. Equipment is produced to be sold, bought to be used, and applied to get the images, but the best accessory you'll ever have along is your curiosity and approach to any possible theme! In short, the less you carry the more you'll be able to look around! Whatever you do - enjoy! :)
