What camera settings did you use to get this affect, I've tried it but my image always comes out too bright for some reason, would be great if you could help :)

First, I took it in the evening right before sunset. Overcast skies help. Also, use a dark filter!! It really makes a huge difference during daytime shooting. I find that late summer waterfalls are the best because they run lower. Too much water and it seems like there is too much white. Settings were Aperture at 22, ISO at 100, and shutter speed was set to BULB using a remote.
