Grand Jury Winner

"The mirrored shape in the ice of the foreground and mountain in the background is not only beautiful, but poetic. This combined with the movement in the clouds underscores a message about the varying paces of change on planet Earth. A viewer can appreciate the beauty of the immediate scene captured and to meditate on time itself. A beautiful scene that also sparks thought in the viewer is an image of real value." - Jaymi Heimbuch

Runner Up

"Photographing a famous location in a new way is a true challenge. By bringing in so much texture, so many layers and so much movement, this photograph encapsulates a fresh look for this much-loved waterfall. " - Jaymi Heimbuch

Runner Up

"In this beautifully crisp image, a viewer can get lost in the stare of the owl. The choice of selective focus and composition are spot on, allowing the viewer to get a sense of the animal's environment while still focusing completely on the animal itself." - Jaymi Heimbuch

Runner Up

"The stillness of the stacks is beautifully contrasted by the smooth movement of the sky and sea. Looking at this image sparks an understanding of time and the long process of erosion which created the stacks in the first place. The lines, light and texture all come together to create something visually beautiful as well as thought-provoking on several levels." - Jaymi Heimbuch

Amateur Winner

"This peaceful mountain scene is at once serene and entertaining. The careful composition keeps the eyes moving all over the image, traveling from reflections to tree lines to mountain tops and sky, and back around again. Yet it still manages to provide a sense of calm for the viewer. This is a very skillfully crafted image." - Jaymi Heimbuch
