I've seen more leopards than a lucky person should, but none as tiny as this. Just cements their place as the most beautiful animal I've seen in the wild. Great photo.

The Shot was taken mid afternoon - 3:15 PMLighting
The cubs were in a rocky area with mixed lighting. While the sun was bright, they were in a shady area.Equipment
Canon 7D with 400 DO and 1.4x. I was using a bean bag for support.Inspiration
These cubs are 5 weeks old. This is the first sighting any guest of the reserve had of the cubs. They were so inquisitive and fearful at the same time. It was only the 2nd or 3rd time they had seen a vehicle. However the mom, the Schotia female is incredibly relaxed around vehicles and they cubs were learning to be the sameEditing
Basic post processing of levels, contrast, sharpening, etc.In my camera bag
On this trip I carried at Canon 1D IV, 2 Canon 7D bodies, Canon 400 DO, Canon 100-400L, Canon 70-200 L II 2.8, Canon 70-300L, Canon 28-80, Canon FlashFeedback
I have spent over 150 days on safari and seeing cubs this young was a first for me. You have to keep going back and spending days in the bush to get opportunities like this. Around every corner made be something spectacular, you never know. Always have your camera ready at a moments notice. Keep the changing light conditions in mind so you can pre-set your camera settings if there are changes you need to make.
