Some are edible and others poisonous but together they make these beautiful patterns.

Thank you! Saw a photo of the underneath part and it hit me what beautiful patterns they make. Went out and picked a bunch of different colored mushies, brought them home and made this collage.

Location
In my kitchen on the table after a long walk in the woods collecting all sorts of mushrooms of various color, shape and size.Time
Afternoon (which isn't relevant in this case as it's photographed inside.)Lighting
Used my ceiling lamp right on top of the mosaic, flash lights on the left and right side, natural window light in the back. Photographed from above about the same hight as the ceiling lamp not to create shadows.Equipment
Nikon D750, nikkor 50 mm f1.8 - handheldInspiration
I saw a photo of a few mushrooms lying upside down and noticed the beautiful patterns they made. I decided to go out in the woods and pick some to make a mosaic of them.Editing
Not much at all. Basically RAW conversion to JPG. I might have touched the contrast a tad and maybe vibrance but I don't even remember. What ever I did was very minimal. It's close to SOOC.In my camera bag
Nikon D7200/D750 - 10-24mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, 200-500mm, 50mm, SB-700 flash, Manfrotto Led8 and then some knickknacks of all sorts.Feedback
Creating a still life out of mushrooms takes a bit of planning and time. First to go pick them AND finding all you want and need for your creation. Next going home and set it all up. It has to be done immediately as the mushrooms dry and change very quickly when it gets inside in the heat. I wanted them to look fresh. Within 20 minutes or so the edges started to dry up so I had to move them around and then some of the mushrooms left brown marks on the others so I had to move or replace them with another... But all in all I was very pleased with the result. I had another formation in mind but this time it didn't work out. There's always another fall and hopefully the forest is full of mushroom by then. The lighting I already described.
