A very picturesque location. It's pretty amazing even up close. I invite you to scope out my gallery as well. We went in Sept. 2015. Ended up getting snow our third day there.

Best Crater Lake shot I've seen yet!
You caught a way of looking at it that really does look surreal. Great Photo!

Love the way it almost looks like a little teeny-tiny miniature island where you'd expect to find some teeny-tiny magical creatures :)

Ha ha, my thought exactly. I'm waiting for Puff the magic little dragon to come flying out of the image. :-)

I don't know if i feel fairy tales but i would not go with much enthusiasm to the island. Top shot for a car girl. Patrick

I bet it must have been a cold dip. It's one of the deepest lakes in the world and on high altitude, I was happy viewing it from land. :-)

One of my favorite places on the planet. Made it there in one July, after a late snow. Took the plunge into the lake for one of the coldest moments in my life! Amazing place - everyone should get there!

is this the big central island on the lake or the smaller one to the side?

Thank you but no. I was standing up a hill, in one of the view points and used a zoom lens to get this close. I'm very happy you like it so well.

Location
It's taken in Crater Lake, Oregon.Time
Afternoon I believe it was. It's been a few years now.Lighting
All natural light. It was a nice Sptember day. A few days later I heard it snowed there.Equipment
Nikon D7100 I believe and Nikon 24--70mm, handheld. (Or possible my Nikon 70-200mm)Inspiration
The amazing view of the island in the middle of this volcanic crater, one of the deepest lakes in the world. The scenery is stunning.Editing
Not really, Just added contrast and vibrance as it was pretty bright and made the colors washed out a bit.In my camera bag
Nikon D7200 D780 lenses ranging from 10mm to 500mm and I just got a Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro that I can't wait to experiment with. Flash SB-700, Viltrox LED-light, Sirui stand etc. Got quite a bit collected nowadays.Feedback
Go explore the world and don't forget your camera.
