Some cameras have settings for Moon photos where one can change the color in advance and in several levels, from reddish thru blue. Aside from the fact that the "blue moon" does not often relate to the actual Moon color, you can thus photograph "blue moon" with another meaning.
When the term "blue moon" is used colloquially, it means a rare event, as in the phrase "once in a blue moon".
