I found an excellent comment (see below) and thought to myself: so accurate for today's state in photo communities it is worthy of more views! So I copy-pasted it here for your reaiding pleasure. For some it will be funny, for others - more like a look in the mirror!

Asking other people for advice isn’t for everyone. In fact, it’s only for the weak-minded, who lack confidence in their own abilities.

When I was younger, I decided I wanted to be a surgeon, so, having confidence in my abilities to slice and dice, I bought a set of kitchen knives and headed to my local hospital.

I was disappointed when they wouldn’t let me in to the operating theater, despite me telling them how nice and sharp my knives were. They kept blathering on about ‘medical school’, and ‘years of training’ and ‘no qualifications’, and nonsense like that.

So, I switched my ambitions to airline pilot. I knew how to fly a plane. I’d seen it done on TV. But, once again, I was denied entry to the cockpit of every plane I tried to board by the smug elite gatekeepers. OK, I thought, these people seem to be worried (obviously wrongly) that if they let me do what I want, I might end up killing people. Obviously I wouldn’t.

I mean, I’m smart and don’t need anyone else to tell me how to perform surgery or fly a plane, but that was their worry. So how about teaching, I thought. They can’t be worried about me killing people, if I do that.

So I headed to my local community college and found a geography class that was about to start. I went to the front of the room, and started explaining to the assembled students that they had been brainwashed by the smug elites into this groupthink notion about the shape of the earth. I was here to bring them the truth, yes Truth, sheeple, that the earth is (obviously) flat. I’d figured this out for myself by looking.

I would have won them over, I’m sure, if it hadn’t been for those jack-booted goons from campus security (not even real police) dragging me out and telling me I wasn’t welcome on their campus.

So, finally, I figured that I could take pictures without anyone else telling me what to do. And I will. I’ll get a picture out of this contraption someday. I think I probably need to press one of these buttons. I’m not sure which yet, but I’m supremely confident that I can figure it out, without the ‘help’ of the smug elites who inhabit this forum.

It’s probably the one near that glass bit sticking out the front (I wonder what that’s for? No, don’t tell me, I am a leader, not a follower).
