Sahara (arabic: alsahra') means The Moon, desert, wilderness, emptiness.

It is also a popular female name, derived from the Arabic word for "desert" in the feminine irregular form (the singular ṣaḥra', plural ṣaḥārā).

Sahara desert appears in several different ways. Many areas are rocky, but prevalently it is covered in sand. This was photographed near Aswan (Egypt).

Thanks, my friend, but this was made a long time ago when digital cameras were still in diapers - and drones were not even imagined!
In those years, gallium arsenide photodiode (GaAsP) sensors just replaced the Selenium photocells in film cameras and light meters, but manual film advance was still the norm... ;)
