... big fishing hook snagged in the lake bottom vegetation, kind of a nasty caltrop patiently waiting for someone to step on it.
Small hooks implanted in the finger (or elsewhere) are bothersome enough to remove, as the procedure requires to push it the whole way through until the barbed end emerges, so it can be clipped off. Then one can retract the hook out of the wound. The problem of infection has to be dealt with subsequently.
Now imagine getting this one out... Ugly business... Wish it would happen to the same lazy dungivadamn who left it on the bottom... :(
