When it's repeated
Some things we'lll never overcome
If we don't seek it
The world stops turning
Paradise burning
So don't think twice
We live in troubled times."

Behind The Lens

Location

Photo was clicked in Lake Ohrid, in front of the house, and on the surface. I took the mask along for snorkeling, planning on making the shot for whatever fun it can be, considering the overall not-funny situation with Corona.

Time

Date/Time of the original is 02-Aug-20 @ 13:28:25

Lighting

Here is what the camera chose, all by itself: Shutter Speed 1/400 s, f/2.8, ISO 100, 0.00 eV, Metering Mode: Pattern, Flash: Auto, Did not fire, and Focal Length: 4.5 mm

Equipment

I used the trusty old Olympus TG-2, shot the "selfie" at the arm's length and upside down, later to rotate the photo.

Inspiration

The ugly pandemic is my everyday "inspiration", practically no minute passes that I don't think about it. And that's way too much inspiration.

Editing

I just rotated the photo through 180 degrees and cropped it a bit. Otherwise it's as good as the camera coud make it in the not-quite-clear water of the day.

In my camera bag

I rarely take more than one camera along for my snorkeling swims, so as to keep things as simple as possible. Otherwise, to me it is easier to carry a photo vest than any photo bag. So I load my photo vest with whatever I might need for my photo session, walk or trip. My photo bags usually keep the equipment I'm not using at the moment. The vest's many pockets usually contain two cameras, spare batteries, ND and CPL filters, and one small photo clamp instead of a tripod. Sometimes I'll include a small action camera, mainly for its wide field of view and resistance to water and weather. The vest has large-lens pockets that holds a small water bottle, a sandwich, or a bar of chocolate if I plan on being out for the whole day. There is about three meters length of paracord or similar strong, thin rope, one hefty pocket knife, and a lighter. With these, much can be "mcgyvered" along the way, so that's all I need. Recently I make it even more comfortable for me, and take the essentials along in a waist pouch. Simplicity and comfort; two best ingredients in most situations!
