I took this photo in the Dominican Republic on a beautiful winter morning.Time
I woke up extra early this morning probably about 530 to go make some picture magic on the beach hoping for a nice sky and colours to start the day. I walked to the beach about 3 minutes from my room on the resort and started to walk up the beach to find a nice looking spot to take a picture. I noticed before that they run a tractor with a grader on the beaches to make the sand all nice so I decided to go to a freshly graded sandscape for myself.Lighting
Using some lights that I was gifted to use for some of my photography ideas I decided I wanted to use my lens ball and also the lights to guide the viewers eye towards the sunrise. So I held down my string of lights under my camera which was planted in the sand to keep everything in place.Equipment
Shot on Canon 5d mark iii, Canon 35 usm ii , Lee filters 100mm filter system, Lee filters Big stopper, Lee filters nd graduated filter 0.9, string of lights, lens ball, and a remote timer for the long exposureInspiration
We'll I really wanted to create something unique with my lensball that I haven't really seen anywhere. I figured I could use the sunlight in a way to frame or guide the viewer to where I needed them to look. Lensball for me is always a creative way to use a different perspective to frame and view something. The light string was something I've used in a few photos before but I finally felt like I found its purpose when I placed it in the frame on this morning. It really added the magic touch in this photo, when I saw it all come together I knew I had captured something special.Editing
I used a few different features in lightroom while edited this picture, crushed some highlights, brought up some shadows and contrast. Also adjusted some of the colours with the lee filter system in front of the lens it tends to need some adjustments to make the colours right. Increased texture, vibrance, saturation and clarity. In my camera bag

Always arrive early, and pack everything you think you might use. Sometimes or more often then not, I end up liking or using photos that I originally didn't think I'd like or would work. The more pictures you can take the better the chances you'll end up with photos you'll enjoy.
