Location
I took this photo at the Jordan Harbour in Ontario Canada.Time
I woke up really early on this winter morning to get to the location for the sunrise. Sunrise was around 6am so I was up at 4 in the morning to get there and get setupLighting
I wasnt sure when I saw the sun coming up if it was going to be a good sunrise or not because of all of the cloud coverage. But there was enough of a gap in the clouds to beautifully paint the sky for this long exposure.Equipment
Canon 5d mark iii, tamron 24-70 ii, lee filters big stopper, tripod, remote trigger for the long exposureInspiration
Landscape and long exposure photography are really my favourite types of photography and this location I was really obsessed with because its hard to find these types of landmarks. I visited this spot a few times for a sunrise and this was by far the most spectacular of them all. They have recently removed the steel that holds up the masts which I find really adds a lot of interesting aspects to the actual presence of the ship. So I'm happy I have this photo of the ship before they took those away, I don't think the photo would have the same effect that it has with the look of the masts.Editing
Very little, I believe I didn't even have lightroom when I took this photoIn my camera bag

You may not get it the first, second or third time. Photography is really a gamble and a game of patience. We don't know what mother nature is going to give us but we take all that she gives and we make the best of it.
