Getting The Best Shot

The best ways to photograph in early mornings are to use a tripod to steady your camera and avoid camera shake, particularly if you're using a slow shutter speed. Setting your ISO to a low value, such as 100 or 200, will help to keep noise levels low and produce a cleaner image. Using a wide aperture, such as f/2.8 or f/4, will help to create a shallow depth of field and blur the background, which can be particularly useful for isolating your subject. Taking advantage of the "blue hour" before sunrise, when the sky is bathed in a soft, warm light, can create a beautiful, moody atmosphere in your photos. This is also a great time for landscape photography, as the color of the sky and the reflections on the water can be particularly striking.
