Adriatic littoral in the upper left photo appears beautifully clean, until you look for details. And then you'll see the results of oil carriers clandestine operations.

Many pristine locations have been damaged by offshore cleaning of crude oil remnants from tanker holds, thanks to inhuman lack of basic conscience and responsibility of captains and crews which always remain unknown.

For those who have never seen crude oil up close, let me add that lumps and blobs are not just laying there ready to be picked up. When the Sun heats them up, these are glued inseparably with the rock, and it takes considerable force to dislodge even the smaller pieces.

By any basic moral and lawful standards, such cleanup work should be exclusively reserved for people which have perpetrated this crime.

As to why it isn't so... your guess is as good as mine.
