Snail crossing the road, which to him might look like the crossing of the desert looks to humans.
This one was lucky, since this particular stretch of road has very little traffic.
Upon photographing, I put him in the grass on the other side.
Wonder what he thinks about the sudden "flight"? UFO?

i hope he or she made it. we are all so prone to proceeding without being aware of the bigger picture, the reality of our surroundings.

True; we see more by walking than riding, although people often travel far and wide and at speed "to see"... the whole huge industry of it being called Tourism.
I had a friend who once bought a speedboat, six meters of sleek with 270HP engine built in. There were three seats - the rest was the engine in the stern and a great big gasoline tank in the prow.
He used it enthusiastically for one summer, and then sold it. Later that year he bought a "passara", an open fishing boat with 4HP outboard.
His reasons were, "I did 35 knots and only saw capes. Now I do 5 knots and see everything."
