We were off to Radozda village for some supplies and the folks there showed us something that really happens very rarely.
This pair of swans has built their nest by the pier, which is smack mid village where people gather, keep their boats, and visit the store (five meters behind me). So far there are two eggs in the nest, which the swans keep warming in shifts.
Birds are neither aggressive nor afraid, simply accepting that they're suddenly center of attention. As to why and how they have chosen to make the nest here (considering that there are many more secluded and quieter places along the shore), that's anybody's guess.
The villagers are delighted by so much trust, and will do their best to keep the swans safe, well fed, and otherwise taken care of.
