It would be hard not to agree with your BTC/L. Only an idiot would find fault in your argument.

Behind The Lens

Location

This one was made in Lake Ohrid, not 200 meters away from home, and during one of my regular Summer swim - snorkeling - diving excursions. The kind of approach and depth can thus vary, but unfortunately, wherever I go I will usually find some such "memento", saying "I, Human not-quite Sapient, was here!"

Time

Date/Time of the original shot is-was 30-Jul-2014 @ 12:28:38. This means the noon lighting, which in Summer reaches deepest into the water.

Lighting

Here you are: Shutter Speed 1/400 sec, f/2.8, ISO 100, 0.00 eV, Metering Mode Pattern, Flash at Auto {did not fire), and Focal Length of 4.5 mm. Of course, these elements will always be unrepeatable...

Equipment

The camera in hand was my VERY old Olympus TG-2, still working nicely after all these years. And it is almost always used out-of-hand with no add-on gear.

Inspiration

Inspiration was, and still is, to provoke revolt against people which carelessly throw their garbage where it is least needed! They never seem to connect their both braincells to remember that it will hurt them in some roundabout way - and there are so many ways to prove it! It is high time to legally pronounce pollution a crime, even when it amounts to just throwing an empty beer can overboard! The punishment should be, say, paying for the diving costs of cleaning one mile of coastal waters. Maybe that would teach them something...

Editing

The photo was just cropped to the frame where the theme is most highlighted. My Oly did all the rest!

In my camera bag

For decades already I find it easier to carry a photo vest than any photo bag. It is more than enough to take along whatever I want or need for my photo session, walk or trip. My photo bags usually stay home or in the car, to keep the equipment I'm not using at the moment. The tripod has its permanent place in the car. My vest pockets usually contain two cameras. Regardless of which is the "main" camera, one of those is always some waterproof model, if the weather plays up or when I find something interesting in the shallows. Nowadays I usually use Nikon P900 or Sony RX100m7, and the waterproof backup is an Olympus TG-2 or a Paralenz DiveCam. Other vest pockets keep the spare batteries, ND and CPL filters, and one small camera clamp which can be fixed to almost anything. In many cases this can replace a tripod. The vest has deep pockets for longer lenses, and these usually hold a small water bottle, a sandwich, or a bar of chocolate - if I plan on being out for the whole day. I always pack about three meters length of paracord or similar strong, thin rope, one hefty pocket knife, and a lighter. Much can be improvised with these if need be. Recently I made it even easier, and take the essentials along in a waist pouch; one variable-volume McKinley. In the Outdoors, simplicity and comfort are my most important requirements!

Feedback

Photograph the garbage scenes that the primitives create, and publish the results with appropriate comments below! This World obviously needs MASS APPROACH TO ANY PROBLEM before the lazy, useless politicians DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!
