Location
Photo was made along the mountain road going over Sljeme, which is a mountain forming the northern side of Zagreb, capital of Croatia.Time
13:50 hrs on a bright November day (which explains those longer-than-usual shadows).Lighting
Pure sun-filled daylight was all that was needed; no other lightsources.Equipment
The camera was an Olympus prosumer (SP570UZ) shot out of hand. Those were the elements: 1/200sec, f5.6, ISO 64, focal length 7.68mmInspiration
This was a test shoot with a model (Modesta), so as to find out how various lighting situations might make her look even more beautiful. As the weather was not all that warm, the boots were the part of usual wear. November in the mountains can be bathing-costume-hot in the sun, but also windbreaker-cozy in the shade.Editing
As far as I can remember, I only did some cropping to arrive at this frame layout (highlighting the boots and the reflection in the car). Nothing else really required any tweaks. In my camera bag
I'm using a photo vest, and distribute all that I carry between its many pockets. There will usually be two cameras, spare batteries for both, some ND and CPL filters, a pocket knife, a camera clamp, a lighter, and a length of paracord. Using those basic add-ons, I can improvise macguyver-style if need arises. I find a photo vest easier to carry all my photo gear in, even within that spartan range it covers.Feedback
Always be ready to go out on an assignment, which means any place, any weather, any theme - and even if it is an assignment you just gave yourself, based upon your own idea. And if you are lucky enough to have a model who is willing to play along, things can't go wrong. You'll both have great time shooting and having fun with lots of variations to the original idea. The results will show it.
