The chubs are a tad late this Spring, at least they were not visible until mid-May. Now they'll begin their spawning rituals, splashing against the rocks and reed throughout the night.
That way the females release millions of eggs, and a swarm of males around will release sperm to fertilize these.
So when the lake waters become warm enough for me to go in, I'l be probably able to photograph large schoals of tiny new generations - hopefully also the big chubs hovering about.
A time to look forward to! :)

Me too, my friend, but the weather still does not comply; the lake waters are only 12C, so too cold for me, even in my diving suit (it is way too light).
