Location
This photo was taken at Napili Bay on the island of Maui. I am an avid photographer and have been working on my photography skills for many years.Time
Napili Bay is one of my favorite places on Maui to photograph the sunset. The sun goes down between the islands of Molokai and Lanai. There are many vantage points to capture different vistas.Lighting
I waited until the sun went behind the clouds to capture the glow on the waves on the beach.Equipment
This shot was taken with my Nikon Z6 II using my 24-200/4-6.3 lens which was mounted on my Manfrotto Aluminum TripodInspiration
The sun had moved behind the clouds creating a glow on the beach and waves.Editing
I used Lightroom to balance the light and dark settings along with increasing the vibrance and details of the photo. In my camera bag
I have recently upgraded to the Nikon Z6 II. It is a lighter weight and has great image stabilization. I have 3 NIKKOR lenses: NIKKOR Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S for macro photography, NIKKOR Z 24-70mm F/2.8 S for standard photography, and NIKKOR Z 14-30mm F/4 S FX for landscape photography. I also carry a set of of filters for each lens which includes a polarizing, a UV, & Neutral Density Filter (ND4). I also carry a remote shutter release and my Manfrotto Aluminum Tripod.Feedback
Be patient and watch the sky. Take multiple shots as the sun is setting and review them to pick the best.
