This photo was taken at the Ukumehame Beach Park on the island of Maui. I took this photo during a photography workshop. I was learning about long exposure photography.Time
It was late in the afternoon and the sun was setting. A line of showers had moved through all the clouds added color and texture behind the tree. I loved how this photo turned out. It gives me a sense of peace and solitude when I look at it.Lighting

I took this photo with my Nikon P900 camera that was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod since we were working on long exposure shots.Inspiration
Every time I visit Maui I stop at Ukumehame Beach Park. I love the drift wood that lines this beach. This tree has been standing for the last 20 years. It may be dead but it continues to stand against everything that mother nature has to throw at it.Editing
I use Lightroom to do my post processing. I set the white and black points and adjusted the highlights and shadows to bring out more detail.In my camera bag
I carry with me my Nikon P900 and D 5600 cameras with which I can easily take macro to telescopic photos. I carry two 8 x10 pieces of foam board. One is black and one is white on one side and aluminum foil attached to the other so I can make changes to the lighting. I take my tripod and my case containing my UV, CPL, FLD and Neutral Density Filters along with my remote shutter release.Feedback
Take your time and don't be afraid to make changes to your camera settings until you get the photo you can see in your minds eye.
