The two greys are brothers. And they are BEAUTIFUL horses. But they don't seem to like each other much- they are ALWAYS fighting. Rough stuff, too. In the wild horse herds of Mustangs in the Utah west desert. My contribution for Wild Horse Wednesday.

I have to admit, it was my first time out at the horses, so I was not in their "rythym". So (GASP!) I just machine gunned this!

Location
This was shot in the west desert of Utah. There are giant herds of wild mustangs roaming the desert. These are wild animals, not the cute horses you think they are....Time
I recall this being 10 or 11... This day started at 5 am to get out to where the wild horses are... finding them.... getting close to them... and then waiting for something to happen. Earlier shots show that morning light. We moved west and north... and shot a few different clans. Now that I think about it.... this may have been more like 1 PM...Lighting
Nothing I could control.Equipment
Long lens. I had a 200. Not as long as I would have liked, but it did the job. I think I also shot on a crop sensor so I got the effect of a 300mm...Inspiration
No inspiration... just capturing what is.Editing
Nothing major. Just basic color, crop and contrast. In my camera bag
I try to have what I need. Here it was basics... camera and lens. It was outdoors with plenty of light, so I could shoot fast shutters to freeze thje fast movements...Feedback
Get out early. Take your time. These are wild animals, respect that.
