Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken close to the door of the house of my parents, my mother planted this species of wheat.Time
Quite surprising it may seem, this photo was taken around noon. Just after eating, I decided to take my coffee out on the terrace and I came across this "massif" that that inspired me right resultLighting
The use of the available light was special. I used the reflection of the sun in the clear wall of the house and a flash to avoid too harsh shadows. To have a pretty dark background, I have been more thought: I tried to find a position that used the shadow of the neighbor's house in the grass. The result was a "golden hour" like pic.Equipment
Very simple, but also because it was every I had at this moment, I use a camera with the incorporated flash : a canon 600d with a 55-250 IS lens. And of course some walls.Inspiration
In summer, it was the harvest time. And my inspiration was to do something close to a country wayEditing
A very light post-processing was done with photoshop to reduced the depth (photo taken at 5.6) and to enhanced a light the color (a bit burn due to the low shutter speed of the flash)In my camera bag
From now, I use a canon 70d with 2 canon lenses : 24-105 F4 L IS and 70-300 F4-5.6 L IS. This two lenses are built as tanks. I use also different flash : canon 550 EX, 270 EX, and sometimes 450 EX. To easy handling I can use a grip on my camera also.Feedback
I think the major part of this kind of photo is the use of light. Everything to capture the best light can be use : a wall like me, or flash, but it can be clair jacket, paper, towel,...But when people think to light, some forget about the shadows. Shadows can be use to create a enhancement or highlight something. So that why background is so important and sometimes it is harder to set up the background in the perfect way. And I think I spend the most of my time on the background on this photo to obtain what I really wanted.
