this is an amazing photo - it brings a touch of humanity to the image. The spider is beautiful and looks like its smiling. Most of us are so afraid of spiders but I feel this image will change minds - more people should see this. I can't usually take macro photos of spiders unless they are the size of dew drops lol. I have a photo of a huntsman who wanted to be my friend because I sat down and had a conversation with him so he followed me back to my house.

This is the most awesome photo I've seen of a jumping spider. Have a look at its personality in its face and eyes - its just one of us - Live, surviving, creating new life and moving through its own little journey

If this is the type of arachnid you encounter in Holland, this would be your scariest creature ;-)

I took this photo when I was washing my white van, the spider sat on the door and was looking at me...Time
It was about eleven o clock.Lighting
I didn't use any flash or additional lighting. It was a cloudy day and my van was parked near a big reflecting window, creating a wonderful light.Equipment
have a Lumix DMC-TZ60, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a camera...The best thing about this camera is that it has a good Leica lens and it is very easy to carry with you because it practically fits in your back pocket.Inspiration
When I saw this little jumping spider sitting on the door of my freshly cleaned van I took my camera because I saw the opportunity to take a clean and natural shot of the spider on a white background! She was just waiting and posing for me, so I could easily take this photo exactly the way I wanted... I don't do much post-processing, so this was a great way to have a "separated" spider as if she was cut out and placed on a white field.Editing
I don't do much post-processing, I only cropped the photo and played a bit with the color depth and the contrast, that's all. Because the spider was sitting on the freshly cleaned white door of my van, I didn't have to edit much!In my camera bag

If you want to take a macro photo like this, make sure you pose your camera as close to the surface as possible. Take the photo from a slight distance to make sure you have a wider field of sharpness and crop it later to the right dimensions to have a nice composition within the rule of thirds! I allways crop in different ways and choose the best one a day later when I can have a fresh look at them... And last but not least, allways make sure your camera is near you with a charged battery!
