Congrats on winning my #roses challenge with your beautiful photo! I love the light pastel color of the rose, and the bee added that extra nice touch.

Location
I took this photo in our city garden in Enkhuizen (Holland) on a wonderful summers sunday when I was pruning our roses.Time
It was about 1 pm.Lighting
I was lucky that the rose was turned away from the sun. When taking a macro photo it's very important to avoid direct strong sunlight because you will end up with a photo with too much contrast and burned out light spots. The details of your macro subject will be lost...Equipment
I didn't use any equipment, I just ran for my camera when I saw this lovely Pyama fly sitting on one of my roses.Inspiration
I liked the matching colors and the contrast of textures between the little crisp shapes of the Pyama fly and the fluffy pastel rose.Editing
I edited this photo in Lightroom to put some emphasis on the colors and I played a little with the light intensities to create a dreamy moodIn my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand how it works first...Feedback
If you want to take a macro photo of a fluffy rose with a lot of light shining on it, you have to be careful not to get "burned" spots because of overexposure. Because the sunlight didn't fall directly on the rose, I had just the right light intensity I needed. In macro like this one I like to have as much sharpness as possible, also in the depth of the photo. In order not to get much Bokeh efffect I take a bit more distance and crop the photo later into the dimensions and composition I like. I allways crop in different ways and choose the best one a day later when I can have a fresh look at them... And last but not least, allways make sure your camera is near you with a charged battery!
