I took this photo in a forest in the South of Holland (Limburg) on a wonderful summer morning.Time
It was about 11 am. in the morning when me and my wife decided to enjoy our free sunday in a wonderful forest.Lighting
In the forest light is wonderfully fitered by the trees. Normally I like to take macros and close ups without to much Bokeh, but in this photo it worked out very well. I managed to create just enough blurr to emphasise this wonderful little flower and her "echo" further away in between the luscious green foliage. In a big forest the tiniest flowers seem to be overlooked by most, but the filtered light of the trees offer you a great opportunity to take lovely photos and especially macros, with the most fantstic light! Warm colors, great detail and no heavy shadows or burned out light spots...Equipment
I only have a Lumix DMC TZ60, all my photo's are taken with this little miracle of a camera... It shows that you don't need an expensive camera with a lot of equipment to take photo's of good quality, The best thing of this camera is that it is very easy to take with you, because it practically fits in your backpocket.Inspiration
Details are my inspiration, I allways try to look around me through a pinhole to find the small details I love so much, without forgetting the whole picture... These little flowers caught my attention as they were flowering so lovely and fragile under the protection of the trees.Editing
I didn't do any post-processing apart from cropping the photo, I thought it was good as it naturally was.In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand photography first...Feedback
A photo like this is quite easy to take, as I explained before the light in a forest is ideal for close ups and macros because the trees filter the light wonderfully. No heavy shadows and no burned out light spots. Avoid distracting items in your composition, if necessary remove small twigs or other unwanted things and remember the rule of thirds in your composition. If you take a wider shot, you can crop it later into the fine composition you want once you get home. make several compositions and choose the best one the following day when you can have a fresh look at them!
