I remember the strong breeze which didn`t make it easy to walk up the ridge. Very beautiful capture and I agree with Steph: a contest winner!!!

It was so hard picking a winner in my challenge but it just had to go to you! Love the long shadow, the sense of scale, the other footsteps other travellers left behind, and the mystery of what's behind the ridge. Thank you for entering :)

Location
This photo was taken at little known, but very beautiful, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park in southern Utah.Time
We made a point to arrive in the morning in order to capture long shadows on the dunes. This photo was taken at about 9:00 a.m.Lighting
Because these dunes contain numerous different minerals and silicates they tend to change colors throughout the day; as the light changes the dunes can change from light corals to deep pinks, depending on the time of day and weather conditions.Equipment
This photo was taken handheld using my Nikon D750 DSLR with a polarizing filter. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
Because of the light cloud cover and the fact that it was morning, the sun reflecting off the dunes gave the whole scene a soft, peach glow. I waited until another visitor started climbing up the ridge of the dune and cast this very long shadow, making the photo just that much more interesting.Editing
Lightroom was used for some color and clarity adjustment. In my camera bag
My current camera of choice is a Nikon D750 full frame. I usually use my Nikkor 28-300 zoom lens which I find very versatile, especially while traveling. I also have a macro lens, a Nikkor 24-120mm, and a Nikkor 150-600mm zoom lens. I always have 2 64gb memory cards in my camera and keep a spare 32gb card in my bag. In addition, I always carry the following: a fully charged spare battery and battery charger, UV and polarizing filters for all lenses, a Tiffen variable ND filter, the Cokin filter system, a lightweight carbon fiber tripod with a remote release, and cleaning supplies.Feedback
Landscape photographers often have the luxury of returning to a particular location at different times of the day, year or during different seasons in order to capture the same scene under different conditions. However, it is almost always preferable to photograph something like this during the morning or afternoon hours when the light is softer and usually more appealing. It is usually best to do a little destination research ahead of time in order to maximize the opportunity for some better than average photos.
