This reminds me of a vintage painting style from the 1890's called trompe l'oeil. It's a French term meaning "to trick the eye." This style has been used for hundreds of years, but your photograph is composed similar to the way artists used this style in the late 1800's. It's a style that creates the illusion that a painting is three dimensional. I love this photo! Fantastic realism, and I love cats!
