Great photo! It looks as if you're working on a large project - any pictures of the finished work?

Location
I took this selfi in my workshop in Enkhuizen, Holland.Time
It was about 3 PM.Lighting
Our workshop has big windows to the north and natural color lights.Equipment
I took this photo with a table tripod and my camera set on a delayed shutter mode.Inspiration
I wanted to portray myself in my workshop doing what I do: sculpting wood.I am copying a Rococo doorpiece from 1760.Editing
I didn't do much post-processing on this photo, I cropped it and played a bit with the light and colors in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand how it works first...Feedback
If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition. Because I was planning a selfi, I placed a piece of board at the place I was standing so I could set my camera on a table tripod just the way I liked it. Then I just had a few seconds to run and get the tools in my hand at the right place behind my work. After some different trials I knew where I wanted to have my hands and tools for the right composition. Then I took some more shots with slightly different settings so I could choose the best one. Once I got home and opened my laptop, the magic of today's digital world begun... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
