One of several very nice falls at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area along the upper Delaware River, the dividing line between New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Dingman's Falls is on the PA side a mile or so from the bridge at Dingman's Ferry..
Normally fairly easy to get to, but the road in and visitors station was closed for repairs. And it was getting late on a cloudy October afternoon… But we found a small parking area further down the road. I decided to hike in from here. By the time I got to the falls, it was nearly dark. So I shot for only a few minutes (long exposures!). This is the upper falls – I think prettier than the longer, narrower (easier-to-get-to) lower falls.
Then I had to head back virtually n the dark (and of course, my flashlight was on the fritz…). After about a half hour of 'bushwhacking' though the woods I saw a bit of light. It was my wife (who had waited - very patiently - for a while – in the car) with her flashlight. I was 'saved'… Do you think it was worth it?...

Bill. Very familiar with the area. Very nice photo. One of my photos is of the lower falls. Actually had a similar time line as we go to the parking area late in the day, although there was still some dusk light for our hike back.

Thanx Tom. It was a pretty exhilarating evening… Even more so when I got back home that night and had a chance to really look at the results… I plan on going back when the leaves turn. And to also check out a couple other falls in the Gap too.
