There are hundreds of beautiful spots, many hidden away from the regular tourist crowds, in Acadia National Park. This is one of those often found by the professional shooter. Boulder Beach, as it's unofficially known, is a smallish cove at the base of a portion of Otter Cliffs. The only way down from the tourist road is via a steep embankment (See the dark 'cave' in the cliffs). A bit tricky to get down, but really not too difficult. The tide is another matter – to get to the far end of the cove (this vantage point), you may have to step in the water at low tide… Sunrise is best – with the sun on the cliffs.

They used to take tourists into the cave via rope years ago but it was too dangerous, too many people got hurt. This is one of my favorite spots in Acadia, I have gone there every year of my life.

Haven't been there as often as you, but now do go every visit to park. It's very exhilarating to be down there at sunrise with no one else around… Thanx for your award!
