One of the iconic images of the area is the Bass Harbor Head lighthouse (actually not officially in the park). You have to climb down a long rickety stair from up on the cliff and climb as far out on the slippery rocks as the tide and your bravery will allow. But when the weather cooperates and light is nice, it will be worth it...
