Location
I took this photo at Spurn Point on the east coast near Hull.Time
It was taken around sunrise.Lighting
The lighting was natural and flat due to low cloud.Equipment
It was shot on a Nikon D810 using a 14-24mm f2.8 lens, no flash, manfrotto tripod and polarising filter.Inspiration
Its an amazing place a peninsula of land that sits right out in the Humber estuary surrounded on three sides by the sea.Editing
The post processing was done in Adobe Bridge and Photoshop, fairly basic black & white conversion mostly and some dodging and burning using the history brush set to multiply or screen for lightening,In my camera bag
I now carry 2 x Nikon D850's, 3 x Nikon SB 5000 flashguns, WIFI connector for the flashes, 14-24mm lens, 19mm tilt shift, 24-70mm zoom, 90mm Tamron macro lens, 70-200mm zoom, 200-500mm zoom, Gitzo tripod, RRS ball head, Manfrotto tripod RRS ballhead, Think Tank and Manfrotto bags. various polariser and 6stop ND filter, torch, cable release and Intervaluometer.batteries etc.Feedback
Get low, test a few shutter speed and aperture combinations to achieve the emotional effect you want, watch the waves closely and be careful of any rogue waves that may occur, do not let go of your camera and tripod and time the shoot to get the best lines and effects of the surf. Really study hard the composition, if it doesn't scream amazing dont bother taking it.....wear wellies!
