Location
This photo was taken on a summer trip around Europe. We drove from Leeds, UK across to Brno,Czech Republic. We stopped in many amazing places but this is the one place I definitely want to go back to. It is Gosausee in the Austrian Alps.Time
This image was taken 13th August 2014. Although it was the middle of summer, it was extremely cold for the time of year. Believe it or not this image was taken mid afternoon.Lighting
The light on this day was pretty much non existent. Even though it was taken in the middle of summer on what should have been a bright sunny day. It was unseasonably cold and extremely over cast due to the low cloud which made it extremely difficult to get a shot that wasn't over exposed.Equipment
This was shot on my old Canon EOS 1000D, using just the kit lens 18-55mmInspiration
I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful scenery and mountains I was seeing on my trip despite the bad weather.Editing
I didn't do any post processing on this imageIn my camera bag
I always carry Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens which is a great value wide angle lens, as well as Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 II Lens along side my 18-135mm lens. I feel like these three lens make sure I have something for any eventuality.Feedback
Being from the UK means we have no guaranteed weather....ever. You have to adapt to the light or lack of light you have. Using filters, being able to experiment with a combination of low ISO and slow shutter speed is a must.
