Looks to have quite a sad look on its face! Paul.

Like this shot ... If a picture paints a thousand words then what would this little fellow say to us?

Behind The Lens

Location

The howler monkey was photographed at Exmoor Zoo, Exmoor, Devon, England

Time

This was taken in the morning

Lighting

It as a dull overcast day so I adjusted the white balance on my camera to compensate.

Equipment

I use a Panasonic Lumix FZ150 with Leica lens

Inspiration

I loved the expression on the howler monkey's face, such a serious look.

Editing

I have to admit I have edited this image greatly, not the monkey, just the background. I loved the monkey but it was in an enclosed area & the background was all wire & boarding. So I used a photo cut out program to remove the monkey & then merged it onto a woodland background from another image. The autumnal colours of the leaves really complement the colour of the monkeys coat. I'm no expert in photo editing but I was pleased with the outcome of this image.

In my camera bag

I travel very light. I keep a tripod in my car but usually only carry my camera with me at all times.

Feedback

Don't be afraid to edit a picture to give you a better result. I loved the monkey in this image but would not have kept it if I had to show it with the original background. Most photographers use editing programs so there's nothing wrong if you want to change an image. In the end both of these images are still my work, just put together!
