Excellent subject matter and well framed. For me the sky is very off putting. Try and darken the sky a lot more.

Behind The Lens

Location
This was taken at Dartmoor Zoo, Sparkwell,Devon, England
Time
This was taken in the morning
Lighting
As you can see from the sky it as a bright, clear day.
Equipment
I use a Panasonic Lumix FZ150 with Leica lens
Inspiration
This is my favorite tiger, Vladimir. He's always worth taking a picture of whenever I visit the zoo. He loves high places to see what's going on. He looks very regal from this vantage point.
Editing
I adjusted the exposure slightly due to the fact that it was bright & shooting upwards towards the tiger caused his fur to look slightly blurred around the outside of his body. So by adjusting the exposure & contrast it brought up the colour & sharpness of his fur again.
In my camera bag
I travel very light. I carry a tripod in my car but usually only have my camera with me at all times.
Feedback
Take what you see. Valdimir was slightly out of focus around the edges but this can be overcome with a small amount of editing. Just because the sky behind is bright, don't dismiss a shot you may regret missing later. The joy of digital photography is it costs nothing to delete images your not happy with, I'm glad I took this one Although many of the others I took that day went in the delete bin.
