Location
This picture was taken at Dartmoor Zoo, Sparkwell, Devon, EnglandTime
This was taken in the morning.Lighting
It was a dull overcast day with a little bit of mist in the air.Equipment
I use a Panasonic Lumix FZ150 with a Lieca lens. It quite a lightweight camera so easy to carry around with me most of the time.Inspiration
Vladimir (the tiger) loves to get up high and watch whats going on around him. This is one of his favorite spots up on large rocks in his enclosure. this means I can get a good shot of him without the worry of wire or bars getting in the way. He also tends to have his tongue out a lot which gives him that gentle 'pussy cat' look.Editing
This image has been cropped. I did adjust the exposure slightly to enhance the colours in his coat as the mist tended to make him look washed out.In my camera bag
I travel very light. I keep a tripod in my car but tend to just carry my camera with me at all times.Feedback
Try to get a straight on view. In this picture the tiger is looking straight at me so it captures his facial expression. It also gives an almost 3D effect as it makes his paws look even closer.
