Beautifully executed. Her look is gorgeous, framing is great use of thirds, and the toning is just lovely! Love the masterful hint of backlighting to create a bit of depth. Nicely done!

Location
The photo was taken as test shot for my awesome stylist Anu.Time
Time of the day really doesnt matter in this case as I was shooting in a studio using strobes.Lighting
One beauty dish as the main light and a hair light from behind at a 45 degree angle was used.Equipment
The photo was taken handheld on a Canon 5D Mk3 camera and Canon 24-105mm lens. For lighting I used Elinchrom strobes.Inspiration
I always have been fascinated with photos showing strong character and nothing highlights this better than a low key image.Editing
yes, since this is a low key portrait, i have increased the contrasts and the smoothened out the skin.In my camera bag
For fashion/commercial work my preferred equipment would be a full frame DSLR or mirrorless camera along with a 24-70mm and a macro lens. A good and light weight tripod, I use the Gitzo series 3 tripod with a ball head. I also have a tether tools tether cable to shoot tethered on my Macbook Pro.Feedback
Always try and shoot tethered, so that you know what you are shooting on the spot and clients can view the results on a large screen. Lesser room for error.
