A special thanks to our friend and professional photographer Michael Zelbel for his collaboration as a guest judge. Michael Zelbel is an amateur photographer operating a photo studio in Duesseldorf. Grand Jury Winner

"Very surreal piece of art. Breathtaking portrait of the model with a super long neck. It captures the viewer’s attention, it’s visually surprising and it’s entertaining. It’s reduced to the minimum: Black and white, model isolated on a round gray gradient. Just one dash of light is hitting the models perfect face. Very dramatic. Awesome technique: The hair is sulhuetted against the gray background. This allows the artist to blend in the liquid ink effect in a believable way." - Michael Zelbel

Runner Up

"Great example for drama in a photo. “So cold” works through perfect story telling. The model model is pulling up his collar in a snowy winter night. Visually the viewer immediately understands what is going on: It’s snowing, the subject's hair, eyebrows and beard are freezing and his face is getting red while his lips turn blue. So he pulls up his collar to get a bit warmer. But looking a bit closer there are three things that stand out: The face of the model looks perfect, as if the scene was prepared for a Hollywood movie. The subject is perfectly sharp, he is frozen. At the same time the snow is motion blurred, it’s falling. The whole scene happens on a perfect diffuse blue, foggy background. It perfectly isolates the model. Nothing distracts from the core message: Freezing man in the snow. Well done!" - Michael Zelbel
