Dynamic composition. Good tones from white to black. This angle of the portrait enhances the posture and the projection of power of the leopard

Location
The photo was taken in the jungles of Kabini, karnataka, India.Time
I photographed this leopard during the end of my morning safari around 8:30 AM. In India safaris are usually divided into two sessions, one in the morning and the other in the evening.Lighting
The light was nice and diffused with just the right amount of contrast on the subject, so making this portrait was a piece of cake.Equipment
For this photo I used a Nikkor 600mm F4 lens mounted on a Nikon D850. The 600mm often helps me get a decent enough shallow depth of field.Inspiration
I had been tracking this leopard for quite some time and he also happens to be one of my favourite cats to photograph in this jungle so when the chance arose, I decided to make a nice portrait of him.Editing
Yes I usually adjust the exposure, colours and saturation levels to match the actual scene, but in this case decided to do a black and white conversion to enhance his gaze at the viewer. In my camera bag
Being out in the wild continuously for days together makes me pack quite a bit of gear as I don't know what will come in handy when and need to prepared at every moment. I use a WulfPro K9 camera backpack to fit most of my gear, along with this i also use the Lowepro Lenstrekker AW600. I use a Nikon D4s and a Nikon Z7 as my main bodies and rent any additional body that is required. As for lenses I always travel with my Nikon 600mm F4, Nikon 200-500mm F5.6, Nikon 24-70mm F4 Z lens and rent a wide angle and macro when required. My tripod is a Gitzo along with a gitzo ball head. I carry my 15" Apple Macbook Pro along with two to three 4TB Seagate hard drives to back up data. At the moment I am using XQD cards from Lexar and Sony for both my cameras.Feedback
In the wild, your biggest advantage is patience. Stay patient and calm and wait for the animal to approach you and you are bound to return with good experiences.
